The pros and cons of CCTV in our lives
At
this time, CCTV or Closed Circuit Television can be found everywhere and every
place such as banks and streets. Many people said that it is unnecessary and
useless to spend money to buy them. Nevertheless, there are also some
advantages for using them.
There
are three main problems to using the CCTV. First of all, it is so expensive and
a waste of money if you put up CCTV camera on every street corner to decrease
many accidents. In fact, if CCTV has problems, we will never know what occurred
and although the cameras are positioned correctly, there is no guarantee that
the camera will catch any crime or unwanted behavior done on the property.
Second, the video recorded in CCTV has low quality. It is always not clear when
we want to look and find something on it. Finally, there is no privacy.
Everyone who watches on TV that plays the video from CCTV can see everything
that you do. You can’t do anything without being observed.
On
the contrary, using CCTV does not only have disadvantages but also advantages.
Firstly, it will be safe if you have CCTV because criminals who notice it will
be alarmed and possibly scared to perform a crime. Secondly, CCTV can resolve
the crime. Having CCTV that’s involved in the crime, it will be easier for the
authority to search from the monitor.
In short, CCTV is like
two-edged sword. It depends on you, whether you use it in bad or good ways. But
I believe that, in spite of the advantages, CCTV is not important in everyday
life. Nobody will spend all the time to keep an eye on the monitor. So, I think
there’s a better technology than CCTV that we can use in our modern life.
